I’ve been using the free powergrade earlier. I was so impressed by it and purchased the whole film lab collection. So far this has been really useful and a great starting point to kickstart my grading. The best thing about this is it doesn’t use any built in film look LUT. Everything is non destructive and nodes and well organised so that you can use this one as a great starting point. Most of the time just balance the exposure, set the colour temp right. And there you go. You will have a great grade. Highly recommend.
I bought these for the purpose of having mode trees I could study and reverse engineer in order to improve my own color grading practice. It also turned out they were valuable tools for helping me deliver great work to my clients!
Before I was just using powergrades for LUT layouts and single effects. This collection has shown me how they can be used for creative looks, plus they’re far more adaptable than regular LUTs.
I’m really not an expert in color grading which is why I love the PowerGrade collection as I’m able to deconstruct how experts do it. It’s really quite helpful to be able to see the nodes used in the PowerGrades. Highly recommended.
The PixelTools Film Lab PowerGrade is a powerful set of tools that beats LUTs. These nodes are customizable down to the core. You're not limited to what's precoded in the LUT. Having the ability to change attributes depending on your footage is amazing to have and feels way better than most plugins.
The PixelTools Vol. 1 PowerGrade Collection is a great tool both for getting good results in a non-destructive way (like you risk with many LUTs), and they can also help speed up your workflow. They’re also a great tool for learning and a source of inspiration, since you can easily browse through many «looks», decompose the powergrades, find out how they work, and also tweak them to your taste.
As every body likes the film look, earlier I tried with luts and did get some results but with PG's its all different altogether. The expansion allowed for tweeking and get the feel I like. I am still delving into these and experimenting them. So far, I am satisfied.
Thanks PT for good solution.
This is my second power grade collection from PixelTools. Certainly didn’t disappoint and I love the flexibility with the node trees. Very tasteful power grades indeed.
These PowerGrades helped me better understand how looks can be created in a node tree-structure. Easy to modify, lovely to combine with each other and overall just easy to use. I'm sure I will integrate these in my grades on a regular basis. Heartfelt thank you to the team of PixelTools!
Ease of use, intuitive, in general great product.
I am more than satisfied with PixelTools.
I'm totally loving it. Propably gonna buy the film lab emulation thing next, I just need to see some tutorials first.
These powergrades works great as they are or as a starting point for my grades. Should be part of everyone’s tool set. No brainer!
Don't bother paying for luts. Optimizing your workflow and your powergrades is the real sauce.
