What is the Three/Strip™ Collection?
A DCTL and PowerGrade collection for DaVinci Resolve built around the classic two-strip and three-strip Technicolor color-separation principles of films from the 1920s–1950s. It delivers the hue rotation, density response and tonal character of classic photochemical color as a single DCTL — a controllable vintage palette that behaves like a professional tool, not a one-click preset.
What's included?
The Three/Strip™ DCTL plus its accompanying PowerGrades. A Crosstalk control lets you bleed the color layers like classic Technicolor 3-strip film, so you can anchor skin tones, protect reds and push saturation to taste — the same color science across your whole timeline.
Also includes the OFX plug-in, with additional controls and faster playback. It runs in both DaVinci Resolve Studio and the free edition.
Can I try Three/Strip™ before buying?
Yes — two ways. There's an interactive browser demo of the 3-strip color science on the product page, plus a free downloadable Three/Strip™ demo to load into your own footage.
Do I need DaVinci Resolve Studio?
For the DCTL, yes — DaVinci Resolve Studio 19.1+ is required, since DCTLs don't run in the free edition. The OFX plug-in runs in both DaVinci Resolve Studio and the free edition. Both formats come with every Three/Strip™ purchase, no separate tier.
Is it a one-time purchase or a subscription?
A one-time purchase with free updates — no subscription.
How do I install it?
Installation is handled by the free PixelTools installer app: download it, run the installer, and Three/Strip™ is placed in the correct Resolve folder automatically.
Is the OFX plug-in fast enough to grade in real time?
Yes — on a modern MacBook Pro, the OFX plug-in holds 24fps playback at UHD, so you're grading at cinema frame rate rather than scrubbing through a preview.

I included this in a simple node tree..it is a very fast way to color your footage and when added to film Emulsion you have a great Kodak look soooo fast!
Big fan of the skin anchor. Its crosstalk and color boost also help dial looks more quickly. Like with other PixelTools plugins, I've found that each slider is well labeled, purposeful, and saves time.
Still experimenting with latest addition to my toolbox.
For people working mostly in controlled lighting environment, maybe not essential DCTL.
But considering mixed light enviroments, helped me to achieve desired look and saved the footage
I absolutely love the simplicity of the Pixel Tools Three/Strip DCLT because it gives me maximum control without requiring me to understand the complex math behind it. As a filmmaking allrounder, I value how easy it is to achieve stunning results and professional skin tones through the skin anchor while creating the desired look. It is intuitive to use, though you do have to be careful not to push the sliders so far that you break the colors. I wouldn’t use it on every project, but for those where I do, it serves its purpose without wasting my time.
