Photochemically-accurate film emulation for DaVinci Resolve
“I'm more than happy to get an amazing film emulation at this price point. I've been using one that costs a perpetual $999, and in some ways I like Film/Emulsion more.”
COMPLETE THE WORKFLOW
Grade real footage with Film/Emulsion right in your browser.
Film emulation that behaves like film. A node-based system for DaVinci Resolve, covering negative, print, halation, and grain. Built for colorists, DPs, and finishing artists who want a film response that holds together across an entire project — with every stage under your control, not locked into a fixed look.

Real film emulation — interactive, no install.
Hit Mix to randomize the full chain — negative, print, halation, and grain. Drag the sliders to fine-tune. Compare against the original. This is the same color science that ships in the plugin — running on the actual DCTL math, not a preview shader.
Like what you see? The full plugin gives you the same controls inside DaVinci Resolve, on any timeline, with every stock unlocked.

A node-based film emulation system for DaVinci Resolve covering negative, print, halation and grain. Built for colorists, DPs and finishing artists who want a film response that holds together across an entire project — with every stage under your control, not locked into a fixed look.
A full photochemical chain: a film negative (NEG) emulation, a film print (PRINT) emulation with bleach-bypass and shadow controls, halation and grain — assembled in a workflow-ready Film Process PowerGrade node structure.
Basic includes 2 DCTL plug-ins (plus “No Icon” alternates) and 4 PowerGrades. PRO includes 4 DCTL plug-ins (plus alternates) and 12 PowerGrades — the full NEG, PRINT, Halation/Tool™ and Grain/Tool™ DCTLs with the complete Film Process PowerGrade set. Already own Basic? You can upgrade to PRO using the same email at checkout.
Yes — two ways. The interactive browser demo on this page shows the negative → print → halation → grain chain responding in real time, and an OFX demo (beta) can be installed through the free PixelTools Installer app (Discover page) to test it inside DaVinci Resolve. Every purchase is also covered by the 7-Day Satisfaction Guarantee.
The DCTL version runs in DaVinci Resolve Studio 20+ (Mac, Windows, Linux). Your purchase also includes an OFX version (beta) that adds more features and improved performance over the DCTL. It also runs in both Studio and the free edition of DaVinci Resolve, so Studio isn't strictly required. The OFX build is in active beta.
A lifetime license — one-time purchase, no subscription, with free updates.
Installation is handled by the free PixelTools installer app: download it, run the installer, and the Film/Emulsion™ DCTLs are placed in the correct Resolve folder automatically. The included PowerGrades import into your Resolve gallery.
