The DCTL takes a lot of work out of using different functions within Resolve that are a pain to handle (HSV sat, linear gain, etc). It’s packed with useful features, and I’m glad I purchased it. Worth Every Penny! SO Good!

I love a minimalist node tree. This allows me to have all my primaries smashed into one node. The false color checkers are so useful too. PixelTools/Kaur does it again!

I've spent so much time learning proper workflows for grading. Linear gain exposure vs. offset, linear balancing, contrast adjustments, etc. Prime/Grade takes all of that and puts it into a single easy to use DCTL. This tool literally combines 3 nodes in my workflow and makes it incredibly easy to work fast without worrying about what is happening under the hood of your nodes. I love the fact that it's compatible with my mini panel, but the sliders give you easy access to adjustments when working on the go. This is a must have tool!

A Game Changer in Precision

As an intermediate colorist, Prime/Grade™ DCTL has been a game changer in simplifying my workflow. Now that I have a deeper understanding of certain tools, I can confidently say that steps like setting up an HSV node for saturation, which used to take up a lot of time, are now streamlined with a simple slider that achieves the same effect—if not better.

Additionally, the ability to quickly turn on false colors for immediate feedback on exposure has been incredibly efficient. One of my favorite features, however, is how well it integrates with a laptop-only setup. Since I’m often grading on the go without a reference monitor, utilizing Resolve’s Shift+F function to edit my image in full screen while having the DCTL tools conveniently accessible has been an absolute pleasure.

One thing I’d love to see in a future update is the addition of a built-in saturation heat map. It would be an incredibly helpful tool to visualize saturation levels across the image and would take this plug-in to the next level.

I think this DCTL is a must-have for anyone looking to optimize their grading workflow while maintaining precision and consistency.
